Our Harvest Preparation and Leadership Classes have begun and will continue for the next five weeks on Sunday Evenings at 6:30pm. If you were unable to attend the first week we have a audio CD available, along with the notes, and a hard copy of all the power point slides. As a recap of week one, we covered the Vision, Goals, Core Values and Styles of Ministry at High Sierra Fellowship. We talked about who we are in the larger Church of Jesus Christ. We went over our doctoral statement and Core Values of how we minister.
If you have been at HSF for any length of time you know that we place a huge emphasis on the Word of God and Expositional teaching through the books of the bible. We also place a great deal of weight on Worship. The scriptures teach that we are created in the image of God and created to worship God.
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (KJV)
The Word and Worship are constant themes in this fellowship. We believe the Word of God (the bible) is our guiding light and faith comes from the Word of God. We believe that “God is seeking after those who will worship him in Spirit and Truth” (John 4:23-24).
We also covered many different areas to serve the Lord in HSF, of course the place of greatest need currently is in our children’s ministry. If you have been part of HSF for the appropriate time, please consider this rewarding ministry. Fill out our application and turn it in to Hollie Harvey or myself, ASAP. Jesus gave us the priority of working with the kids.
Matt 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Next week we will begin a two week series on Leadership and Servanthood. These two are intimately tied together in scripture and can not be separated. On Easter we will have two Sunday Services, if we get enough helpers over the next coming weeks Easter should be our launch of two permanent Sunday Services.
Looking forward to His Coming.
